We offer Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Education at Franciscan Community Education Lafayette with office hours from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Franciscan Health Lafayette has been offering quality Emergency Medical Service (EMS) educational programs since 1975.These programs have ranged from the level of the First Responder through those of the EMT-B, Advanced EMT and paramedic.
Our approach to EMS education has always been and continues to be a high quality of didactic classroom education and excellent clinical training for our students. Our instructional staff firmly believes in turning out quality EMS personnel competent in applying their skills in emergency situations. EMS personnel that employers know are well trained and ready for the unpredictable work environment that is EMS.
EMS Education is geared to pre-hospital and Emergency Department providers that will give superior care to their patients and their communities.
Typical participants are persons who wish to become Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and those who wish to continue their education and become Paramedics.
It's also a great start toward becoming a more advanced care provider such as nurses, physician’s assistants and medical doctors.
Additionally, continuing education is available for individuals continuing their careers in Emergency Medical Services.
The EMT Courses are offered twice a year usually in the Spring and Fall.
The Primarty Instructor Courses are by request and on an as needed basis.
The First Responder Courses are by request and on an as needed basis.
