Spiritual care is a key component of all care offered at Franciscan Health. Our e-Chaplaincy program at our Northern Indiana hospitals extends that care beyond our hospital walls. Patients and families can now reach a chaplain via email to help with stress and spiritual concerns.
Franciscan Health's certified chaplains are reaching beyond hospital walls to their websites to offer a resource to those in need of a spiritual helping hand. Our e-Chaplaincy program offers outpatients and the public another resource to have their concerns addressed through an initial email request. The e-Chaplaincy program expands chaplains’ opportunities to deal with spiritual distress and assistance needs.
e-Chaplaincy services are currently offered at our hospitals in Crown Point, Dyer, Hammond, Michigan City and Munster.
Prayer, support, confidentiality
Patients and families often reach out to our chaplains for help with:
Concerns about chronic illness
Crises of faith
e-Chaplaincy gives patients and the community an electronic platform where they can engage with a chaplain for prayer and support in a completely confidential way.
We welcome all e-chaplain inquiries and we treat them with sensitivity and strict confidentiality. Because email communication is not secure, there is a possibility of interception by an outside third party. If this is a cause for concern, please consider a telephone call to the chaplain. Please note that we address issues from a spiritual/pastoral care perspective. We are not a professional counseling service. You are not under any obligation to speak with a chaplain on the phone, but if you prefer a phone conversation, please provide your phone number and a chaplain will contact you directly.
