Franciscan Health therapy services offer individualized patient care by a team of qualified professionals.
Physical therapy is designed to focus on improving mobility and function. Many people see a physical therapist for various illnesses or injuries. Franciscan Health Rensselaer offers a wide range of services for patients of all ages.
Following a comprehensive evaluation by a physical therapist, a rehabilitation program is initiated. Our therapists work closely with clients and their physicians to help them return to achievable levels of health and independence.
Physical therapy involves the treatment of illnesses or injuries that result in the loss of strength, motion, endurance, balance, coordination and sensation. Conditions treated include athletic injuries, post-surgery rehabilitation, stroke, wounds, work related injuries, and many other injuries and illnesses.
A therapeutic pool is available at each location.
Speech therapy involves the rehabilitation of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing skills, which may deteriorate as a result of stroke, Parkinson's Disease, other neurological disorders, head trauma and cancer. When a developmental delay or medical issue is involved, speech therapy helps children acquire age-appropriate speech, language, and swallowing skills as well.
Franciscan Health Rensselaer's speech-language pathologists work with a variety of patient populations including early intervention, school age pediatrics, hospital in-patients, outpatients, long-term care patients, and home health clients.
