The group prides itself on using the latest surgical techniques, including minimally invasive procedures for obesity, colorectal disease and other digestive tract disorders.
At Indy Southside Surgical, our team is focused on providing the surgical solution to deliver the best results based on your specific condition and needs. Every recommendation we offer is designed to help you achieve a fast and successful recovery, and maintain optimum long-term health.
Many surgical procedures routinely are performed utilizing minimally invasive techniques, some of which require specialized skill and training. These types of operations do not involve large incisions, so recovery is generally quicker and easier compared to traditional methods. Our surgeons are recommended to patients because of their extensive experience in minimally invasive procedures.
Of course, not all operations performed by general surgeons can be done through a minimally invasive approach. The surgeons of Indy Southside Surgical are experienced using more traditional methods when necessary.
General surgeons, like those at Indy Southside Surgical, perform a wide variety of operations including:
Laproscopic Repair: Indy Southside Surgical performs minimally invasive techniques for many other abdominal operations traditionally performed by general surgeons. This includes operations on the spleen, small intestines and stomach. We have more than 20 years of experience with two of the more common operations, which are consistently done laparoscopically. Cholecystectomy, or removal of the gallbladder, is one of the most common operations performed in the United States. In addition, the most common emergency operation performed by our surgeons is the appendectomy, which is done to treat acute appendicitis. Indy Southside Surgical also offers laparoscopic removal of intra-abdominal scar tissue, or adhesions, for treatment of abdominal pain or bowel obstructions.
