Ask The Doc - Cardio-oncology: Does Cancer Treatment Affect the Heart?
Location: Cancer Support Community, Conference Room
5150 West 71st Street
Have you or a loved one gone through cancer treatment? Some cancer drugs can affect the heart muscle, so if you need certain types of chemotherapy, it is important to monitor your heart condition before starting and while going through treatment. And the effects can last for many years after treatment is complete. Franciscan Physician Network specialists Dr. Rao, cardiologist, and Dr. Raghavendra, oncologist, will discuss the impact chemotherapy may have on heart muscle and what can be done to help these patients.
Ask the Doc is a 1 to 1 1/2 hour program, led by Franciscan Physician Network physicans, independent physicians and surgeons, focusing on specific heart topics. Each class is committed to a single topic related to cardiac and/or vascular health and includes a presentation as well as class discussion, questions and answers. Light refreshments provided.
Free admission; registration required due to limited seating. For more information or to register, call (317) 257-1505 or register online.
