Ask The Doc - How To Protect Yourself from Stroke (Indianapolis)

Location: Franciscan Health Indianapolis, Heart Center Comm. Room

8111 S. Emerson Avenue
Indianapolis, IN 46228

Having a stroke is some people’s greatest fear. But there are ways to reduce your risk, starting with knowing your family health history and getting a vascular screening. Dr. Abdel Almanfi, interventional cardiologist with Indiana Heart Physicians, will share with you what you need to know about risk factors for stroke and how to manage them. He’ll also discuss the early signs of “mini-strokes” known as TIAs and surgery options for unblocking the carotid arteries that carry blood to the brain.

Ask the Doc is a 1 to 1 1/2 hour program, led by Franciscan Physician Network physicans, independent physicians and surgeons, focusing on specific heart topics. Each class is committed to a single topic related to cardiac and/or vascular health and includes a presentation as well as class discussion, questions and answers.

Free admission; registration required due to limited seating. For more information or to register, call (317) 782-4422, (877) 888-1777 or register online.
