The American Heart Association Basic Life Support CPR course is designed to teach CPR skills for victims of all ages, use of an AED, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction, ventilation with a barrier device, and a bag-mask device to physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, physician assistants, other health care providers and prospective BLS instructors who require certification.
Who should enroll
Healthcare professionals such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, physician assistants, other health care providers and prospective BLS instructors who require certification. Anyone who works in direct contact with patients. A written test and skills performance test is required to obtain certification.
Fees and registration
Classes are held every other Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $55 for non-hospital employees. The fee covers all course materials. Payment is due at the time of registration.
