When a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer, she may experience a range of emotions including anger, sadness, loneliness, fear, shock and denial. If you have these feelings, rest assured that they are normal reactions. However, it is important you work through these feelings so they don't overwhelm you.
The Breast Cancer Support Group at Franciscan Health Crown Point provides support, encouragement, and a non-judgmental atmosphere to share concerns as well as joys and triumphs. The goals are:
- To provide support for one another to cope with breast cancer and related issues
- To reach out to others affected by breast cancer
- Although not a focus of the group, to provide factual breast cancer information as related to issues arising in group meetings
