Get moving and join the Kathryn Weil Center for Education and Franciscan Health for the tenth annual Day of Dance! Staying active is essential to maintaining long-term health for your heart. Reduce your risk of developing heart disease by increasing physical activity and practicing your dance moves. To improve overall cardiovascular health, at least 150 minutes per week of moderate exercise is recommended for adults, while 60 minutes per day is recommended for children and adolescents.
The tenth annual Day of Dance will include free cholesterol screenings provided by the Franciscan Health Foundation. Other health screenings include BMI, body composition, cardiac risk assessments and more.
Various local dance groups will also be showcasing their talents throughout the day.
Day of Dance includes the Walk the Mall: A 1-mile loop walk through the mall and all participants will receive a free pedometer.
Walk with a Doc
The inaugural 'Walk with a Doc' will be from 2 - 3 p.m. at the Day of Dance. Dr. Daniel Wickert will meet with participants at 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. then walk around the mall. Join us to start this healthy habit!
