Grief Support For Teens
Location: Christ United Methodist Church

Death is a part of the life cycle, but it’s especially difficult for children to grasp and make sense out of it, particularly when they lose a loved one. That’s why Franciscan Health Hospice offers children their own support groups.
Grief Support For Teens (Ages 13 - 18) is a free four-week support program that offers learning experiences for teens who've experienced the death of a loved one. Activities include participating in storytelling, art projects, games and other sharing opportunities. Parents also are invited to participate in a concurrent session to assist them in supporting their children.
- crafts and refreshments,
- watching a dvd of other children telling about their lost loved one(s),
- opportunities for each child to talk about their loved one(s),
- therapy dogs, a feelings board, feltboards,
- a Butterfly Lady - who displays caterpillars and sometimes butterflies.
Classes meet at Christ United Methodist Church, Indianapolis, one mile north of the Greenwood Park Mall. There is no fee, but registration is required.
