Newborn Care Basics emphasizes how to prepare for meeting the needs of the newborn during the first few weeks of life. This class will cover basic pediatric health care, newborn characteristics and physical care of the newborn. Dolls are available to use, and hands-on practice is encouraged to learn how to diaper, dress, swaddle and hold the infant. Fathers (or a support person) are expected to attend this class.
Cost is $25 per couple*. Preregistration is required for all programs. Registering during your fourth month of pregnancy will assure you the widest selection of class dates, times and locations. Please plan to begin attending your selected classes during the month that corresponds with the beginning of your seventh month of pregnancy.
