Preparation for Childbirth Class - Crawfordsville
Location: Franciscan Health Crawfordsville - Bonzel Hall
1710 Lafayette Road
Crawfordsville, IN 47933
Preparation for Childbirth classes will help prepare the expectant mother and her partner for labor, delivery and early postpartum. Class content includes discussion and videos regarding the signs and stages of labor, labor variations, delivery, pain management options and early postpartum care. Couples have the opportunity to address questions/concerns they may have. Both vaginal and Cesarean delivery will be addressed.
Couples will practice breathing and relaxation techniques, comfort measures and ways partners can provide support during labor. Separate tours of the Franciscan Health's Center for Women and Children and our LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum) rooms are encouraged, and offered at a variety of dates and times. Couples taking childbirth classes may also schedule newborn care, breastfeeding, and/or infant CPR at no additional charge. The term “couple” refers to the expectant mother and her support person. Payment for classes is due at the time of registration.
For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. When registering for your childbirth classes, please consider your scheduling needs and your expected date of delivery. If your schedule allows, we suggest your childbirth classes be completed three (3) to six (6) weeks before your due date. Couples are asked to bring two pillows with them to each class for breathing and relaxation exercise practice.
The cost of the class is $55.
The class takes place in Bonzel Hall located right inside the main entrance of Franciscan Health Crawfordsville.
