Christopher F. Njeh, PhD, Franciscan Health Central Indiana Chief Medical Physicist, Elected To Lead Association
INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Christopher F. Njeh, PhD, has been elected to lead the Ohio River Chapter of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM).
Dr. Njeh, chief medical physicist and radiation safety officer for Franciscan Health Indianapolis, will assume the helm as president of the chapter in January 2020. Nationally, the AAPM is a scientific and professional organization of scientists whose clinical practice is dedicated to ensuring accuracy, safety and quality in the use of radiation in medical procedures such as medical imaging and radiation therapy.
A Greenwood resident, he has been affiliated with Franciscan Health since 2015. He has held similar positions and academic appointments in California, Baltimore and Texas since 1997.
Dr. Njeh received his undergraduate degree in physics (with honors) from Birmingham University in England and his graduate degree in medical physics from Aberdeen University in Scotland. He later earned his doctorate degree in physics at Sheffield Hallam University in England.
In more advanced training, Dr Njeh completed a residency in radiation medical physics at the John Hopkins University in Baltimore.
A frequent contributor to scientific journals, Dr. Njeh is a Fellow with the AAPM and has had memberships in numerous professional organizations.
