CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Illinois - The Franciscan Health Lullaby Birthplace Chicago Heights partnered with Fifth Third Bank to congratulate parents of babies born on May 3, 2018, dubbed Fifth Third Day by the bank.
The parents of each child born on May 3, received a free gift package that includes a newborn onesie, a baby's abacus toy, a copy of One Cent, Two Cents, Old Cent, New Cent by Dr. Seuss, a $50 Amazon gift card, a $50 Target gift card, a Fifth Third piggy bank and an offer to receive a gift of $1,053 to fund a 529 College Savings Account or minor savings account for baby's future.
"Partnering with Fifth Third Bank for this event is entirely consistent with Franciscan Health's mission to celebrate life,” said Teresa Berki, Franciscan Health lactation consultant, certified childbirth educator and safe sleep coordinator. "We're especially delighted to help give parents a headstart on providing for their child's education."
The hospital had two births on 5/3. One boy and one girl. The Fifth Third Day Babies event was launched in the Greater Cincinnati area in 2017. 108 babies were born in that area that day.
"I can think of no better way to celebrate Fifth Third Day than to welcome the newest members of our community," said Eric S. Smith, Fifth Third Bank's Chicago region president. "We are thrilled to be among the first to welcome our future community leaders, business owners, teachers and the like. As education is something we are very passion about, it's our hope that our monetary gifts might be invested into a 529 college fund or savings account."
