Franciscan Health Michigan City's St. Camillus Award Winner "A Great Team Player"
MICHIGAN CITY, Indiana - Jessica Parker, a six-year registered nurse in the Franciscan Health Michigan City surgery department, receives the hospital's 2018 St. Camillus Award from Anil Chawla, MD, far right, during a general medical staff meeting in May.
The award, which has been presented since 2010 and is named for Camillus, a patron saint of hospitals, nurses, and the sick; is presented following medical staff nominations.
Chawla, hospital vice president of medical affairs, called Parker "a great team player who is liked and respected by physicians, practices Franciscan values, promotes service and hospitality, and is an ambassador for the hospital in the community."
Parker said she was "excited, surprised and humbled" to learn she had been selected. Also shown are David Fumo, MD, left, medical staff president; and Dean Mazzoni, hospital president and chief executive officer.
