Franciscan Health Olympia Fields Construction Update

OLYMPIA FIELDS, Illinois - After more than 18 months, the spine corridor at the Olympia Fields campus is set to reopen for thru traffic on Monday, April 9, 2018. The reopening is planned as the outpatient (west) entrance of the campus is scheduled to close on the same date to begin construction that will transform it into the new main entrance of the Olympia Fields hospital.
With the closure of the outpatient (west) entrance, patients/visitors will be directed just to the right of that entrance to the west corner door of the spine. The valet and orthopedic clinic waiting area will also be relocated to the west end of the spine.
Temporary interior and exterior directional signage will be updated as a result of the spine reopening and west entrance closure.
Key Dates
Week of 3/19: Tonn & Blank (T&B) to complete wall framing and dry wall in Spine containment area
Week of 3/26: T&B to complete paint and flooring in Spine containment area
Week of 4/2: Spine wall disassembly and ongoing miscellaneous work within the containment area, final touches
Weekend of 4/6 to 4/8: Starting at 3:30pm on Fri 4/6 through Sun 4/8, there will be a terminal cleaning of the entire 10,000 sq.ft. spine, including ceiling tiles, loft ledges and flooring on the first and second floors.
Monday 4/9: The spine reopens for interior traffic and the outpatient (west) entrance closes for interior remodeling. The west entrance closure is expected to last about 4 months.
