Franciscan Health Weight Loss Center Indianapolis Earns National Reaccreditation

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – The Franciscan Health Weight Loss Center Indianapolis has been reaccredited with the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), a joint initiative of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
MBSAQIPs means that patients seeking surgical treatment for severe obesity and its related conditions have a superior option from a program that meets the highest standards for safety and outcomes. Further, it ensures bariatric surgical patients receive a multidisciplinary program for preoperative and postoperative care designed specifically for them.
The National Institutes of Heath reports that 15.5 million Americans suffer from severe obesity and the numbers continue to climb. Obesity increases the risks of morbidity and mortality related to diseases such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and other serious conditions.
