New Space Opens at Franciscan Health Lafayette Central
LAFAYETTE, Indiana - Officials from Franciscan Alliance and Franciscan Health celebrated the new location of the Franciscan Education Center with a blessing and dedication ceremony and an open house on Wednesday, August 16.
The Franciscan Education Center includes the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing, Staff Education, Community Education, EMS Education and High Fidelity Sim Lab.
The $15 million renovation project covered parts of four floors at the Central campus and began in August 2016.
The St. Elizabeth School of Nursing and EMS Education has relocated from its current building that was constructed in 1922 into the new space. Staff Education will relocate from an existing location in the Central campus. The Kathryn Weil Center for Education will relocate at a later time this fall from its location in the Bill Long Building at 1415 Salem Street.
The $2.5 million high fidelity simulation lab is located in the former intensive care unit on the second floor.
