Occupational and Environmental Medicine Physician in Chicago Heights Earns Fellowship
CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Illinois - Kanayo K. Odeluga, MD, MPH, of Franciscan Health Chicago Heights, was elevated to Fellowship in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) at the American Occupational Health Conference in Denver, Colorado.
Dr. Odeluga practices occupational and environmental medicine (OEM) as Medical Director of Franciscan WorkingWell, Chicago Heights. Dr. Odeluga is also a member of the Central States Occupational and Environmental Association, one of ACOEM's 23 component medical societies. He is now qualified to use the designation FACOEM after his name. Fellow is the highest class of membership within ACOEM.
It recognizes physicians who have been engaged in the full-time practice of occupational and environmental medicine and who have exhibited significant ACOEM leadership. Fellows like Dr. Odeluga have also demonstrated their expertise within the specialty by achieving certification in occupational medicine or in another medical specialty by a Board acceptable to the ACOEM Board of Directors. Fellows are eligible to serve as officers and directors of the College.
Occupational and environmental medicine is the medical specialty devoted to prevention and management of occupational environmental injury, illness and disability, and promotion of health and productivity of workers, their families and communities.
Created in 1916, ACOEM is an international medical society with more than 5,000 members. It provides leadership to promote optimal health and safety of workers, workplaces, and environments.
