When Chad came into the Franciscan Health emergency room in Indianapolis, his infected tricuspid valve was no longer functioning and was throwing infected debris into his lungs. He was the first patient in the world to receive the CorMatrix Extracellular Matrix tricuspid valve.

Dr. Marc Gerdisch

Chief of cardiovascular and thoracic surgery and co-director of the Heart Valve Center at Franciscan Health Indianapolis​

Dr. Gerdisch is a senior partner with Cardiac Surgery Associates specializing in complex heart valve surgery and is a clinical assistant professor of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at the Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Gerdisch is an independent physician who chooses to practice at Franciscan Health.
