Franciscan Health Doctor In Carmel Honored With Health Healing Hands Award

CARMEL, Indiana – W. Edward Turton, MD, hospitalist with Indiana Internal Medicine Consultants, has been presented with Franciscan Health's Healing Hands Award.

Dr. Turton practices at Franciscan Health Carmel and provides hospitalist coverage for that facility's inpatient unit. He also serves as the lead physician in the Carmel preadmission clinics and works in the Franciscan Health Indianapolis pre-op clinic and acute inpatient rehabilitation unit.

He accepted the Healing Hands Award at a recent ceremony in Indianapolis. The award recognizes physicians for excellence in clinical skills, patient relations, stewardship, research and reflecting Franciscan’s ministry, values and mission.

"Dr. Turton is an excellent clinician and serves as a resource for our entire nursing staff," said Steve Wheatley, director of operations for the Carmel campus.

Patients and staff alike are impressed with his work ethic and compassionate care and they expressed their sentiments in written nominations.

Board-certified in internal medicine and certified by the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, Dr. Turton earned his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario.
