Franciscan Health Family Medicine Residents Ready For Rounding In July 2021

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The Franciscan Health Family Medicine Residency program has matched with nine new physicians who will join the hospital to begin training July 1, 2021.

This class of residents holds the unique distinction of having been recruited and interviewed during the pandemic through an entirely virtual process. Though this offered them advantages in scheduling flexibility and travel expenses, it did not allow candidates the chance to experience the on-site warm and compassionate atmosphere that makes Franciscan so unique.

"In spite of the challenges, we are extremely pleased with our success and excited for the Franciscan family to meet our new class," said Carrie Anderson, MD, residency program director. "We greatly appreciate the medical staff's continued support and dedication to our family medicine residency."

The new residents are:

• David Aguilar, MD, Wayne State University School of Medicine
• Patrick Jeffers, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Emily Kiolbasa, MD, University of Minnesota School of Medicine
• Zachary Lundy, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Shelby Morrison, MD, Indiana University School of Medicine
• Casey Sieferman, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Carolina Vogel, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Alexander Waldherr, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine
• Jocelyn Yuen, DO, Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine

The residency program lasts 36 months and launches the residents' careers in family medicine. They will practice in the Franciscan Health Family Medicine Center in Indianapolis, and will see a variety of patients across all age groups and income levels, including expectant mothers.
