Franciscan Health Hospitals Earn 2020 National "Green Building" Honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Franciscan Health Indianapolis and Mooresville Environmental Services has passed the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS)-Green Building assessment and has been reaccredited with CIMS-Green Building Certification with Honors.

CIMS-GB certification demonstrates that Franciscan Health Indianapolis and Mooresville has undergone a comprehensive assessment by an independent, accredited CIMS-GB assessor and has successfully demonstrated a commitment to the delivery of environmentally preferable services that are designed to meet customer needs and expectations.

"We are proud of our Environmental and Linen Services staff because they truly do operate professionally and as a team to provide a clean and safe environment for our patients, visitors and their fellow employees," said Sister Martha Ann Reich, osf, who has championed the hospital's housekeeping, recycling and environmentally focused efforts for many years at Franciscan Health.

"By implementing the CIMS-GB principles into the organization's operations where requested, our Indianapolis and Mooresville hospitals have established their capability to provide green cleaning services and assist customers in achieving points under the LEED-Existing Buildings Green Building Rating System," said Gerald Lynch, director of Environmental Services for Franciscan Health.

In 2014, Franciscan Health was the first non-governmental hospital recognized with CIMS recognition. This year's recognition is Environmental Services' second reaccreditation.
