4/22/2025
INDIANAPOLIS – The Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit at Franciscan Health Indianapolis was named the Signet Health Inpatient Program of the Year for 2024 as part of the Signet Excellence in Advocacy Awards.
The awards are open to all acute physical rehabilitation and behavioral health programs within Signet Health, with submissions based on activities from all of 2024. The awards recognize outstanding achievements across five categories.
“We are very honored to receive this national recognition from Signet Health,” said Megan Pickett, director of Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation for Franciscan Health Indianapolis. “This achievement is a true testament to the hard work and dedication shown by our inpatient rehabilitation team and is a reflection of the collective efforts and commitment to delivering exceptional patient care.”
In earning this award, the Franciscan Health Indianapolis Inpatient Rehabilitation team has demonstrated excellence throughout the year and achieved exceptional overall program performance. Franciscan Health has exceeded in clinical excellence, customer service, marketing, contract retention, performance metrics and provided a positive financial impact to the hospital. These criteria were all met while living the mission to advocate for the vulnerable when they cannot advocate for themselves.
“We are very humbled to be recognized by Signet Health for having the inpatient rehabilitation program of the year,” said Dr. Sachin Mehta, director of inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation at Franciscan Health Indianapolis. “We use a team approach to rehabilitation and we have an amazing group of nurses and physical, occupational and speech therapists, who treat the patient in a holistic way to get them back to doing the things they were doing before their injuries or illnesses.”
By focusing on aligning with the hospital's shared goals, a strong partnership has been solidified between the inpatient rehabilitation program and hospital administration, helping to drive the program's continued success.
“There are countless inspiring stories of patient and family advocacy and success shared by our teams in behavioral health and acute inpatient physical rehabilitation programs, making it impossible to capture them all,” said Joy Figarsky, Signet Health president and chief operating officer. “Recognizing these teams and highlighting how they make a difference—whether by improving patient outcomes, raising awareness, or advocating for those in need—also serves to inspire others to strive for excellence.”
“All of our programs across the country are doing incredible things every day for the patients, families, and communities we serve,” said Blake Browder, CEO of Signet Health. “I’m proud to celebrate and honor those nominated for their dedication and outstanding work.”
