Franciscan Health Physicians Listed Among Indianapolis Monthly's 2022 'Top Doctors'

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Numerous Franciscan Health employed (Franciscan Physician Network) and affiliated physicians have been honored as 2022 "Top Doctors" by Indianapolis Monthly magazine (November issue).

Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., a healthcare research and information company, compiled this year's honorees by asking physicians to recommend someone in Central Indiana they would see themselves or suggest to a family member. Nearly 1,000 licensed medical professionals in the area, representing dozens of specialties, met Castle Connolly's qualifications.

This year's list of Franciscan Health doctors numbered 147, who practice in counties throughout central and south-central Indiana.

"We are gratified so many of our physicians have been recognized this year by Indianapolis Monthly magazine," said Christopher Doehring, MD, vice president of medical affairs for Franciscan Health Central Indiana. "More so, we are proud of all doctors who have chosen our hospitals and practices to care for the patients we are privileged to serve."

One article in the special section features Richard Shea, MD, a cardiologist with Franciscan Physician Network Indiana Heart Physicians. He shared his views on cardiovascular health as it relates to some trends popular on social media.

Franciscan Physician Network Central Indiana has more than 350 primary and specialty care doctors and advanced practice providers at 100 locations in Central Indiana. Combined with affiliated doctors, nearly 1,200 physicians practice at Franciscan Health's hospitals in Indianapolis, Mooresville, Carmel and other facilities.
