Franciscan Health Updates COVID-19 Testing Hours At Hammond, Dyer And Munster Hospitals

LAKE COUNTY, Indiana - Franciscan Health has updated the hours for drive-thru testing for novel COVID-19 coronavirus at Franciscan Health Munster. Franciscan Health Dyer and Hammond do not offer drive-thru testing, but will provide testing if necessary, only for patients that present for emergency situations and services.

The testing takes place at trailers located outside of hospital emergency departments.

Testing at Franciscan Health Hammond is 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Testing at Franciscan Health Dyer is 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Franciscan Health Munster’s drive-thru requires a doctor’s order for a COVID-19 test. Anyone who comes to the Munster drive-thru for testing after 3 p.m. must have a doctor's order as well.

For Franciscan Health Munster only, the testing schedule is as follows Monday through Friday:

• 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Scheduled appointments only
• 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.: Closed for lunch
• 1 to 3 p.m.: Scheduled appointments only
• 3 to 6 p.m.: Unscheduled/walk-in testing

A free online assessment is also available for patients who are experiencing symptoms or think they may have been exposed to novel COVID-19 coronavirus. This non-diagnostic questionnaire, developed in collaboration with Franciscan clinical leaders, will determine an individual’s eligibility for a telephonic consultation with a nurse.
