Franciscan Health's Marie Canine Cancer Center Introduces New Cancer Treatment Technology

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Indiana - Franciscan Health Marie Canine Cancer Center is proud to introduce new innovated cancer treatment with the Varian VitalBeam linear accelerator. The new accelerator gives more treatment options for cancer patients that includes radiation, motion and imaging that works together for efficient treatment.

The linear accelerator targets tumors with more precision to spare the healthy surrounding tissue. Cancer patients will also have shorter treatment times with the linear accelerator.

“We are excited to offer this treatment option for patients close to home so they don’t have to travel far to receive cancer care,” says Kathleen Nelson, director of Franciscan Health Marie Canine Cancer Center. “This technology helps improve the patient experience while continuing to provide excellent cancer care.”
