INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Taylor M. Ortiz, MD, has joined the practice of Franciscan Physician Network Oncology & Hematology Specialists.

Dr. Ortiz is a graduate of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts and completed his Medical Oncology and Hematology fellowships at the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. He is the former medical director of the Seacoast Cancer Center in Dover, New Hampshire and previously served as US Medical Oncology Advisor for Thoracic Oncology at Eli Lilly and Co. He is board-certified in medical oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

He joins a multidisciplinary team of physicians and advanced practice providers who provide a full range of care to patients at Franciscan Health Cancer Center Indianapolis and various locations throughout central Indiana.

Dr. Ortiz has clinical and research interests in thoracic malignancies and personalized cancer therapeutics, with a background in the use of immunotherapies and innovative molecularly targeted therapies for the treatment of cancer. He provides clinical care for patients with solid tumors and benign and malignant hematologic disorders.

A native of Fishers, Indiana, Dr. Ortiz received his bachelor's degree in anthropology from Columbia University and his internal medicine residency training at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology and has been widely published in professional journals and lectured on a variety of cancer treatment and research topics.
