Patient Assistance Fund Helps People Undergoing Cancer Treatment

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - The rigors of those being treated for cancer stretches beyond medical care as many patients and their families often grapple with financial uncertainties.

That's why Franciscan Health Cancer Center is partnering with the Cancer Support Community Central Indiana and the Johnson County Community Foundation. A $10,000 grant from the Foundation has established the Patient Assistance Fund.

The fund provides financial help for patients, providing eligible patients with $100 Kroger gift cards and $50 gas cards. To qualify, a person must be undergoing treatment at Franciscan Health Care Center and living with a household income of 300 percent of the federal poverty level or below.

To apply, a person must complete a pre-screening and request an application by contacting the Cancer Support Community Central Indiana at 317-257-1505 or kaylaepplin@cancersupportindy.org.

For more than two decades, Cancer Support Community Central Indiana is a vibrant community of cancer survivors and their loved ones. The organization provides psychosocial support to complement medical treatments patients during their care and recovery.

Since 1991, the Johnson County Community Foundation has played a vital philanthropic role. They do so by community-building initiatives, addressing needs through grantmaking, scholarships and providing leadership on key community issues.
