INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Seven students are poised to become graduates of the Franciscan Health Clinical Laboratory Science Program.

The students, who will graduate in a special ceremony Friday, May 17, 2019, at Franciscan Health Indianapolis, include:

  • Emilee Abercrombie. Indiana State University. (BS, Biology with Specialization in Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Parents Jeff and Christy Abercrombie of Franklin, Indiana
  • Rachael Baker. Purdue University. (BS, Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Parents Troy and Tracy Baker of Hartford City, Indiana
  • Emily Brennan. Manchester University. (BS, Medical Technology, 2019). Parents Tim and Melinda Brennan of Lima, Ohio
  • Taylor Evans. Indiana State University. (BS, Biology with Specialization in Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Parents Mike Evans and Dana Cole of Marion, Indiana
  • Katherine (Katy) Neese. Indiana State University. (BS, Biology with Specialization in Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Parents Donna Neese and the late Lee Neese of Martinsville, Indiana
  • Megan Osmon. Indiana State University. (BS, Biology with Specialization in Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Parents Travis and Cindy Osmon of Odon, Indiana
  • Sonal Prajapati. University of Indianapolis. (BS, Medical Laboratory Science, 2019). Wife of Sanjay Prajapati of Greenwood, Indiana

The 10-month program – a division of the hospital's clinical laboratory – was established in 1967 and is dedicated to preparing professional medical technologists with the theoretical and practical training to serve as active members of the healthcare team in clinical laboratory science.

Medical technology involves conducting a wide range of laboratory tests for the detection, diagnosis, treatment and study of diseases. Clinical laboratory scientists work closely with pathologists and other specialists to ensure the accuracy of diagnoses.
