Dr. Jenna Walls Of Franciscan Physician Network Sports Medicine Specialists Named Team Physician For Butler University In Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Jenna Walls, MD, CAQSM, part of the team at Franciscan Physician Network Sports Medicine Specialists Indianapolis, has been appointed head team physician for Butler University. In that role, she will provide both primary care and sports medicine services to Butler’s student-athletes.

Dr. Walls has been the head team physician for various high school sports teams and currently is also an assistant team physician for the Indianapolis Indians and Noblesville Boom of the NBA G League.

Dr. Walls graduated from the Ross University School of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis where she also completed her fellowship training at St. Vincent Sports Performance. Her clinical specialties include the non-operative management of musculoskeletal injuries, concussion management, and regenerative medicine practices.

She encourages her patients to play an active role in formulating their treatment plan and is thrilled to collaborate with Butler University's outstanding sports medicine staff in providing the best possible care for its athletes.

Dr. Walls will be joined on the sidelines by orthopedic surgeon Michael Bender, MD, of Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics. Dr. Bender is a fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in shoulder and elbow disorders, with prior experience taking care of athletes as a team physician at Park Tudor and Indiana State University. 

Drs. Walls and Bender will be supported by a team of orthopedic surgeons from Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics who have sub-specialty training in foot/ankle, knee, hip, spine, hand/wrist, elbow shoulder and sports medicine. Franciscan Physician Network specialists will also support the team as needed, including providing comprehensive concussion care.
