LAFAYETTE, Indiana - The brand new, state-of-the-art Franciscan Health Cancer Center is now open at 1701 South Creasy Lane. The three-story building is 68,000 square feet and is the largest comprehensive cancer center in Tippecanoe County.

Tonn and Blank, a construction management company headquartered in Michigan City, Indiana, broke ground on the $43 million project at the end of June 2022.

The Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette features a wide array of cancer-defeating technologies and therapies all housed in the same location.

The cancer center offers screenings, diagnostics, treatments and survivorship programs. New procedures, cutting-edge therapies and advanced technology will be utilized. The facility offers convenient access and timely support, with personalized experiences that go above and beyond treatment.

"We built the Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette for our neighbors in Tippecanoe County and surrounding areas to have convenient access to a wide range of resources all under one roof and close to home," said Terry Wilson, Franciscan Health Western Indiana president and CEO. "The cancer center exemplifies our commitment to being at the forefront of healthcare innovation. Our outstanding team of doctors, nurses and staff will lead the way in providing a healthier future for our entire community."

Advanced technology in the cancer center includes a new PET/CT machine which can scan a patient in as little as 15 minutes. A new linear accelerator has also been installed and will deliver precise radiation treatment. In collaboration with the hospital and pulmonologists, robotic bronchoscopy is also now available for lung biopsy, providing earlier diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer. These are just a few of the many advancements offered.

"The new Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette will have an impact on the entire community, well beyond its walls," said Maria Vought, director of the oncology service line at Franciscan Health Cancer Center Lafayette. "Opportunities will be created for collaboration and advancement in cancer care, which is part of our overall mission. The cancer center will also provide a hub for education, research and community outreach."

Franciscan Health Lafayette East was recently rated among the Top 10% in the Midwest for cancer care in 2024 by CareChex® Awards.
