Franciscan Health Lafayette East Named Best Hospitals For Joint Replacement, Gastrointestinal Surgery

LAFAYETTE, Indiana - Franciscan Health Lafayette East announced that it is one of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement and for Gastrointestinal Surgery in 2023, according to new research released by Healthgrades, the leading marketplace connecting doctors and patients. This achievement reflects Franciscan Health Lafayette East's outstanding clinical outcomes for these two specialty care areas.

This year's analysis revealed significant variation in patient outcomes between America's 100 Best Hospitals in specialty care.

For example, from 2019-2021, patients treated at hospitals receiving the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement Award have, on average, a 65.6% lower risk of experiencing a complication while in the hospital than if they were treated in hospitals that did not receive the award.*

In addition to being recognized as One of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement and Gastrointestinal Surgery, Healthgrades awarded Franciscan Health Lafayette East as recipient of the Joint Replacement Excellence Award for 12 years in a row (2012-23); the 2023 Gastrointestinal Care Excellence Award; the Gastrointestinal Surgery Excellence Award for two years in a row (2022-23); and as the Top 5 Percent in the Nation for Gastrointestinal Surgery in 2023.
