Michael Barron, MD, Awarded Healing Hands Award By Franciscan Health Central Indiana

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - Michael Barron, MD, was recently awarded the Healing Hands Award by Franciscan Health Central Indiana.

Dr. Barron has practiced cardiology at Franciscan since 2000 when he joined Indiana Heart Physicians, a Franciscan Physician Network practice. He was nominated by several staff members. One nurse wrote: "Dr. Barron is the most kind and compassionate physician I have ever worked with. His concern for patients as well as staff and co-workers is genuinely heartfelt."

Another nurse wrote: "Dr. Barron is always going above and beyond to help patients and family members during difficult times by taking time to sit with them and really explain what is happening and how this will affect their lives. I have many patients tell me how much they appreciate his bedside manner and his care and compassion toward patients."

Dr. Barron attributes his success as a physician to his tremendous partners, whom he learns from every week, and to his top-notch support team, including exercise physiologists, triage nurses, echocardiogram technicians, secretaries and medical assistants. He also values his patients, enjoys helping them and seeks to engage them in their own care.

"I am blessed to work at Franciscan and am truly grateful for this award," he said. "It is an honor."

The Healing Hands Award is presented quarterly to a physician employed by, or affiliated with Franciscan Health.
