Tuberculosis Instructor Course

Overview

This course is designed to teach the instructor candidate how to instruct the American Lung Association in Indiana TB Competency Validation. All materials, procedures and policies for leading the skills demonstration of administration, reading, and recording of Mantoux TSTs will be covered.


Requirements

Participants must be a healthcare professional who is responsible for tuberculosis education and who holds a (4) year degree in a health-related field or a current Indiana professional license. Participants must also have taken the Basic Tuberculosis and Skin Test Course within three (3) years.


Application Process

Participants are responsible for knowing their registration status prior to arriving at the course; incomplete registrations will be returned. If your facility requires you to submit your brochure to them for processing, make a copy of all pages for your own use. Please ask your facility for registration confirmation.

Registration must include the following five items:

  • Copy of licensure
  • Copy of Basic Tuberculosis and Skin Test Course Completion card
  • Signed statement of Financial and Resource Support, located on the second page of the registration form
  • Completed registration form
  • Complete payment

Participants must also prepare by using the provided study guide to achieve a score of 90 percent on the examination. Study guides will be mailed to participants approximately 3 weeks prior to the course date. Course fee is $135.
